FERNANDO CARUNCHO
The Catalan landscape architect Fernando Caruncho runs his own office in Madrid and, since 1980, has designed and created a great number of gardens, mainly in Spain, among others the Ollauri Gardens in La Rioja (1985-1987) and the park of Mas de las Voltes in Castel de Ampurdán (1995-1997) which is remarkable for its ‘plain’ of wheat fields. Caruncho has carefully studied the history of oriental and occidental garden architecture and translates a number of archetypical elements of Moorish and Arabic gardens into contemporary designs.

Since I’m a great admirer of Caruncho’s work and a Catalan myself I might indeed wish he was Catalan as you state. Actually he is from Madrid.
