Is this an Italian garden? I don’t think. Historically intendend, Italian gardens rejected flowers and worked on topiary, statues, greys of the stones, greens of the foliage, sparkling blue of the water.
Those illustrated postcards seem to me a beautiful example of « gardenesque » style, in fashion at the end of the XIX century. Not at all an Italian garden.
Or is there a hint that I’ve not gathered?
