Moerenuma Park – Sapporo – Designed by Isamu Noguchi

“The whole park is a sculpture”, is what artist Isamu Noguchi said about Moerenuma Park in Sapporo, Hokkaido.The first thing you see when you get to this park is an artificial mountain called Moere Mountain.

Some of the other attractions are reminiscent of scenes from Yokoyama’s newest book The Garden.

Tetra Mound consists of a little hill and a 13 meters high triangular pyramid made with stainless steel. Each pillar has a diameter of 2 meters!
